Terms and conditions
Last updated 1 September 2026
These are the rules of booking a transfer with us. We have tried to write them so you can actually read them, and to put the things that cost you money where you will see them.
Who you are contracting with
Airportlink is operated by Transitan Tourism Tours Ltd, registered in Ireland under company number 781297, at 36 Gardiner Street Upper, Flat 11, D01 H9N1 Dublin, Ireland.
We arrange your transfer and are your point of contact. The driving is carried out by licensed local transport companies who hold their own operating licences and insurance. We check those licences before a company can work with us, and we check them again when they expire.
Booking
A booking exists once you have completed checkout and received a confirmation email with a reference. Until then, nothing is reserved.
You are responsible for the details you enter. A wrong address or a wrong phone number is the most common reason a transfer fails, and we cannot fix either from our side on the day. Check the confirmation email when it arrives.
The vehicle is private. You never share it, and there are no other stops.
The vehicle type shown when you book — sedan, van, or more than one vehicle — reflects the number of passengers. We do not guarantee a particular make or model. We guarantee enough seats and enough space for normal luggage.
Paying
The price you see before you pay is the price. It includes taxes and tolls. There is no meter and no surcharge for arriving late because your flight was delayed.
Paying now
Your card is charged at checkout, and the booking is confirmed immediately.
Paying later
On many transfers you can book without paying. We store your card securely with Stripe and charge it 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and the exact date when you book, and again by email.
If the charge fails we try again and let you know. If it keeps failing, the booking is cancelled and no money is taken. We do this rather than send a driver to a transfer that has not been paid for.
Make sure the card is still valid on the charge date. A card that expires between booking and travelling is the usual cause.
Cancelling
You cancel
- More than 24 hours before pick-up: free. The full amount is refunded automatically to the card you paid with. Your bank normally takes five to ten working days to show it.
- Booked without paying and not yet charged: cancel at any time. Nothing was taken, so there is nothing to refund, and we remove the stored card.
- Less than 24 hours before pick-up: no automatic refund. Contact us — if the driver has not yet set off we will do what we can, but by then a vehicle has been committed to you.
Travel agency accounts have a 12-hour window instead of 24, on bookings they made themselves.
We cancel
Rarely, and only when we cannot carry out the transfer — severe weather, a road closed, or no vehicle available. You get the full amount back and we tell you as early as we know.
On the day
Meeting your driver
The day before, we email you the driver’s name, phone number and vehicle. Save that number to your phone. It is much easier than searching an email while carrying luggage.
Your driver contacts you with the exact meeting point. At an airport this is usually in the arrivals hall after you clear customs.
Flights
Give us your flight number when you book. We track the flight and the driver adjusts to the actual landing time. You are not charged extra for a delay.
If you do not give a flight number, the driver arrives at the time you booked and the normal waiting time applies.
Waiting time
- Airport pick-ups: 60 minutes free after the flight lands.
- Anywhere else: 15 minutes free from the booked time.
After that the driver may leave, and the transfer counts as a no-show. If you know you will be late, call the driver — almost every no-show could have been avoided by a phone call.
No-shows
If you do not arrive and do not make contact, no refund is due. If the driver does not arrive, you get the full amount back, and tell us as soon as you can so we can try to arrange something.
Luggage, children and animals
The price covers one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger. Anything beyond that — skis, golf clubs, bicycles, an unusual number of bags — tell us when you book, in the notes. A vehicle that turns up too small for your luggage is a problem for everybody.
Child seats: tell us in the notes, with the child’s age. We pass it to the driver. Where the law requires a seat, travelling without one is not possible.
Assistance animals travel free. For other animals, ask before booking — not every driver accepts them.
Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is not permitted in the vehicles.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. Reply to your confirmation email or use the support chat, and include your booking reference.
Where a transfer was not carried out as booked and it was our fault or the driver’s, we refund it. Where a transfer was affected by something outside anyone’s control — weather, strikes, roads closed — we do what we can, but we cannot compensate for consequences beyond the fare.
We are not liable for a missed flight or a missed connection. Allow sensible time. If you tell us the flight you are catching, we will suggest a pick-up time that leaves margin, but the decision is yours.
Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Behaviour
Drivers may refuse to carry a passenger who is abusive, or in a state that makes the journey unsafe. No refund is due in that case. It is rare, and we would rather never write this paragraph — but a driver alone with a passenger at 5am needs it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the protection of the law of the country where you live.
