The journey
Sudoeste is a residential area designed by Lúcio Costa, right next to the Parque da Cidade and with quick access to the Eixo Monumental. It is newer than the Plano Piloto wings and is still growing.
Arriving at Brasília Airport
Brasília Airport sits in the Lago Sul administrative region, a short drive from the Plano Piloto and the hotel sectors. Domestic and international flights share a single passenger terminal with a central building and north and south piers. Arrivals are on the lower level, and your driver meets you there.
- The road out to the centre is usually quick, but the drive back towards the airport can be slow at the end of the working day. Leave margin for an evening departure.
- There is no metro station at the airport, so a door-to-door transfer saves a change of bus or train with luggage.
How long it really takes
Maps says 16 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.
Realistically, 46 to 91 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
When to book

How much luggage can I take?
One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis, golf clubs, bicycles or an unusual number of bags: tell us in the notes when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent.
Can I get a child seat?
Tell us in the booking notes, with the child's age, and we pass it to the driver. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.
Who will drive me?
A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.
Can I book the return from Sudoeste to the airport?
Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.
When do I pay?
When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.
