The journey

Pissouri is just over the district line in Limassol, with the village on the hill and the hotels on the bay below. The drive is along the A6 motorway towards Limassol. Tell the driver whether you are in the village or down at the bay.

Arriving at Paphos Airport

Paphos Airport is south-east of the city, on the coast between the villages of Timi and Acheleia. There is one terminal, all on one level, which opened in 2008 and is run by Hermes Airports. After passport control and baggage reclaim you come out into the arrivals hall, with the car-hire desks and the taxi rank just outside. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name.

• Passport control and baggage can be slow when several summer charters land together. The driver tracks your flight and the free waiting starts from landing.
• For Ayia Napa, Protaras and the east of the island, Larnaca is the closer airport; from Paphos the drive is long.
• Many airlines fly to Paphos only in summer, so the airport is far busier from spring to autumn than in winter.

How long it really takes

Maps says 27 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.

Realistically, 57 to 102 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.

When to book

Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.

One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.

Can I get a child seat?

Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.

Who will drive me?

A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can I book the return from Pissouri to the airport?

Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.

When do I pay?
