The journey
The drive comes in from the airport on the west side and crosses the city to the Old Town on the right bank of the Vltava. The Old Town is a tangle of narrow lanes, several of them closed to through traffic, so give the driver the hotel name and street and he will stop at the closest point a car can reach.
Arriving at Prague Airport
Prague Airport is on the western edge of the city, and there is no rail link: the public options are buses that connect with the metro, or the Airport Express bus to the main station. It has two passenger terminals. Flights from outside the Schengen Area, such as the UK, North America and Asia, arrive at Terminal 1; flights from Schengen countries arrive at Terminal 2. Each terminal has its own arrivals hall, and your driver waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal with your name.
- Check which terminal you land at: Terminal 1 for flights from outside Schengen (including the UK), Terminal 2 for flights from within Schengen. The driver waits at the terminal on your booking.
- Both arrivals halls have a tourist information desk and ATMs; in Terminal 2 the ATMs are to the right as you come out of customs.
- The airport is on the opposite side of Prague from Kutná Hora and Brno, so trips east go round or across the city and the time depends on Prague traffic. The price is fixed either way.
How long it really takes
Maps says 29 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.
Realistically, 59 to 104 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
When to book
Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.
Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.

How much luggage can I take?
One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.
Can I get a child seat?
Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.
Who will drive me?
A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.
Can I book the return from Prague Old Town to the airport?
Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.
When do I pay?
When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.
