- A fixed price with tolls and taxes in. Nothing is added at the end.
- Flight tracking. Land late and the pick-up moves, not the price.
- 60 minutes of free waiting after the flight lands.
- Free cancellation until 24 hours before pick-up.
- One suitcase and one bag per passenger. More than that, tell us when you book.
The journey
South into the city along the Tuusula road, the main route between the airport and the centre. Most hotels are around the Esplanadi park, the railway station and Senate Square, all within a few blocks of each other. Give the driver the hotel name: the centre has trams and one-way streets, and the driver will pick the closest door the car can reach.
Arriving at Helsinki Airport
Helsinki Airport is in Vantaa, north of Helsinki city centre. Since June 2022 it has worked as a single-terminal airport: all flights arrive and depart through the extended Terminal 2, with arrivals on the first floor and departures on the second. After baggage claim you come out into the central arrivals hall, where people meeting passengers wait. Your driver waits there with your name.
- There is only one terminal in use, so whatever older bookings or signs say about Terminal 1, you will come out in the same arrivals hall as everyone else.
- The commuter train station is reached directly from the arrivals hall, and the bus and taxi areas are a short walk outside — your driver meets you inside the hall instead.
- Helsinki has several passenger harbours with ferries to Tallinn and Stockholm. If you are heading for a ship, tell the driver the terminal name, not just 'the port'.
How long it really takes
Maps says 32 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.
Realistically, 62 to 107 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
When to book
Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.
Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.
FAQ
How long does it take to get from Helsinki Airport to Helsinki city centre?
About 32 minutes for the 20.2 km, outside peak traffic. Your driver knows the route and follows the flight, so a delayed landing moves the pick-up rather than costing you the transfer.
How much is a transfer from Helsinki Airport to Helsinki city centre?
From €86.74 for up to four passengers, and €105.60 for a group of five or six in a van. The price is fixed when you book — tolls and taxes included, nothing added at the end.
What happens if my flight is late?
We track the flight number you give us. The driver waits and adjusts to the actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting after the plane touches down.
Where do I meet the driver at Helsinki Airport?
In the arrivals hall after you clear customs. The day before your trip we send you the driver's name, phone number and vehicle, and they contact you with the exact spot.
Can I cancel?
Free up to 24 hours before pick-up, refunded in full. On many routes you can also book without paying and we only charge the card 48 hours before you travel.
Is the transfer private or shared?
Private. The vehicle is for your group only: no other passengers and no other stops on the way to Helsinki city centre.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. One price covers everyone in it, up to the seats of the vehicle you choose.
Which car will I get?
It depends on the size of your group. Sedan: Skoda Superb, Toyota Camry or similar; Premium Sedan: Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series or similar; Van: Mercedes Vito, VW Caravelle or similar; Large Van: Mercedes V-Class, Ford Tourneo or similar; Minibus 12: Mercedes Sprinter or similar · or 2 vans; Minibus 16: Mercedes Sprinter or similar · or 2 vans. These are examples: we do not guarantee a particular make or model, but we do guarantee enough seats and enough space for normal luggage.
How much luggage can I take?
One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.
Can I get a child seat?
Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.
Who will drive me?
A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.
Can I book the return from Helsinki city centre to the airport?
Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.
When do I pay?
When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.
Can I contact you before I travel?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp at +1 951 579 7412 — for a price, a change to your booking or anything about the trip — or email support@airportlink.app.
