The journey
Béziers is south-west of Montpellier, on a hill above the Orb. The Canal du Midi and the Fonseranes locks are on the edge of town. The feria in August fills the centre.
Arriving at Montpellier Airport
Montpellier Méditerranée is at Mauguio, south-east of the city, close to the coast and the lagoons. The terminal is compact, and the driver waits in the arrivals hall after baggage reclaim, with your name on a sign.
- The Écusson, Montpellier's old centre, is almost entirely pedestrian. Give the exact address and the driver stops at the nearest point.
- Some TGVs use Montpellier Sud de France station instead of Saint-Roch. Check your ticket.
