The journey
La Défense is the business district just west of Paris, around the Grande Arche. Most of it is a pedestrian deck built over the roads, and cars circulate underneath and on the ring road around it. Give the tower or hotel name so the driver takes the right exit.
Arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
Charles de Gaulle is north-east of Paris, at Roissy. It has three terminals: Terminal 1 is the round building, Terminal 2 is split into halls 2A to 2G, and Terminal 3 is a separate building served by the CDGVAL shuttle train. Your driver waits in the arrivals area of your terminal, after customs, with your name on a sign.
- Terminal 2 is large, with halls 2A to 2G. The driver waits at the arrivals exit of the hall on your booking.
- Paris traffic decides the journey time more than the distance. Book with a margin if you have a train to catch.
How long it really takes
Maps says 35 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.
Realistically, 65 to 110 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
When to book
