The journey
South to Dresden, coming in on the A13 at the Dresden-Nord interchange. The address is the Neumarkt, the square around the Frauenkirche, rebuilt and finished in 2005, with the Altmarkt and the Albertinum close by.
Arriving at Berlin Brandenburg Airport
Berlin Brandenburg Airport is at Schönefeld, south of the city, and has two passenger terminals, T1 and T2, both between the parallel runways. Terminal 5, the old Schönefeld building, has been closed since February 2021 and will not reopen. Terminal 2 has no road access of its own: its baggage reclaim is on the ground floor, with a passage through to Terminal 1. Your driver waits for you in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall on level E0, below the check-in hall.
- If you land at Terminal 2, walk through to Terminal 1 after baggage reclaim. It is a few minutes on foot, and T2 has no road of its own for cars.
- Arrivals is on level E0, underneath the departures level. The meeting point is downstairs, not up at check-in.
- In normal traffic the drive to central Berlin takes around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on where you are going.
How long it really takes
Maps says 122 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.
Realistically, 152 to 197 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
When to book
Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.
Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.
FAQ
How long does it take to get from Berlin Airport to Dresden?
About 122 minutes for the 171.7 km, outside peak traffic. Your driver knows the route and follows the flight, so a delayed landing moves the pick-up rather than costing you the transfer.
How much is a transfer from Berlin Airport to Dresden?
From €347.33 for up to four passengers, and €376.13 for a group of five or six in a van. The price is fixed when you book — tolls and taxes included, nothing added at the end.
What happens if my flight is late?
We track the flight number you give us. The driver waits and adjusts to the actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting after the plane touches down.
Where do I meet the driver at Berlin Airport?
In the arrivals hall after you clear customs. The day before your trip we send you the driver's name, phone number and vehicle, and they contact you with the exact spot.
Can I cancel?
Free up to 24 hours before pick-up, refunded in full. On many routes you can also book without paying and we only charge the card 48 hours before you travel.
Is the transfer private or shared?
Private. The vehicle is for your group only: no other passengers and no other stops on the way to Dresden.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. One price covers everyone in it, up to the seats of the vehicle you choose.
Which car will I get?
It depends on the size of your group. Sedan: Skoda Superb, Toyota Camry or similar; Premium Sedan: Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series or similar; Van: Mercedes Vito, VW Caravelle or similar; Large Van: Mercedes V-Class, Ford Tourneo or similar; Minibus 12: Mercedes Sprinter or similar · or 2 vans; Minibus 16: Mercedes Sprinter or similar · or 2 vans. These are examples: we do not guarantee a particular make or model, but we do guarantee enough seats and enough space for normal luggage.
How much luggage can I take?
One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.
Can I get a child seat?
Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.
Who will drive me?
A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.
Can I book the return from Dresden to the airport?
Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.
When do I pay?
When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.
Can I contact you before I travel?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp at +1 951 579 7412 — for a price, a change to your booking or anything about the trip — or email support@airportlink.app.
