Taxi or private transfer to Messe Frankfurt (exhibition centre)?
| Option | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Airportlink private transfer | €48.75 | Fixed price per vehicle. Driver waiting in arrivals with your name, flight tracked, 60 minutes of free waiting, luggage included. |
| Official taxi from the rank | ≈ €37.60 | Official Frankfurt tariff for the same distance, by day. The meter keeps running in traffic; queues at the rank at busy times. |
The transfer costs 30% more than the metered taxi and removes the queue, the meter and the search for the rank. Taxi price calculated from the official tariff published by frankfurt-main.ihk.de.
What is included
- A private vehicle for your group. No sharing, no other stops.
- A fixed price with tolls and taxes in. Nothing is added at the end.
- Flight tracking. Land late and the pick-up moves, not the price.
- 60 minutes of free waiting after the flight lands.
- Free cancellation until 24 hours before pick-up.
- One suitcase and one bag per passenger. More than that, tell us when you book.
The journey
The trade fair grounds in the west of the city, between Bockenheim, Westend and Gallus, with ten exhibition halls. The fair dates back to 1150 and hosts the Frankfurt Book Fair, the largest in the world; give the driver the hall or entrance on your ticket.
Arriving at Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt Airport is about 12 km south-west of the city centre, beside the Frankfurter Kreuz, where the A3 and A5 meet. Terminal 1 — concourses A, B, C and Z — is the largest and is used mainly by Lufthansa and its Star Alliance partners. Terminal 3 opened on 23 April 2026, and Terminal 2 closed on 9 June 2026 for refurbishment, its airlines moving to T3. The SkyLine train links the terminals. Your driver waits in the arrivals area of your terminal with your name.
- Check whether you land at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3. They are separate buildings linked by the SkyLine, and the driver needs to know which one.
- Terminal 2 is closed for refurbishment. If an older booking or confirmation says T2, tell us and we move the pick-up.
- The airport has its own long-distance station, linked to Terminal 1 by a walkway, if you are continuing by ICE instead.
How long it really takes
Maps says 15 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.
Realistically, 45 to 90 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
When to book
Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.
Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.
FAQ
How long does it take to get from Frankfurt Airport to Messe Frankfurt (exhibition centre)?
About 15 minutes for the 14 km, outside peak traffic. Your driver knows the route and follows the flight, so a delayed landing moves the pick-up rather than costing you the transfer.
How much is a transfer from Frankfurt Airport to Messe Frankfurt (exhibition centre)?
From €48.75 for up to four passengers, and €63.98 for a group of five or six in a van. The price is fixed when you book — tolls and taxes included, nothing added at the end.
What happens if my flight is late?
We track the flight number you give us. The driver waits and adjusts to the actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting after the plane touches down.
Where do I meet the driver at Frankfurt Airport?
In the arrivals hall after you clear customs. The day before your trip we send you the driver's name, phone number and vehicle, and they contact you with the exact spot.
Can I cancel?
Free up to 24 hours before pick-up, refunded in full. On many routes you can also book without paying and we only charge the card 48 hours before you travel.
Is the transfer private or shared?
Private. The vehicle is for your group only: no other passengers and no other stops on the way to Messe Frankfurt (exhibition centre).
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. One price covers everyone in it, up to the seats of the vehicle you choose.
Which car will I get?
It depends on the size of your group. Sedan: Skoda Superb, Toyota Camry or similar; Premium Sedan: Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series or similar; Van: Mercedes Vito, VW Caravelle or similar; Large Van: Mercedes V-Class, Ford Tourneo or similar; Minibus 12: Mercedes Sprinter or similar · or 2 vans; Minibus 16: Mercedes Sprinter or similar · or 2 vans. These are examples: we do not guarantee a particular make or model, but we do guarantee enough seats and enough space for normal luggage.
How much luggage can I take?
One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.
Can I get a child seat?
Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.
Who will drive me?
A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.
Can I book the return from Messe Frankfurt (exhibition centre) to the airport?
Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.
When do I pay?
When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.
Can I contact you before I travel?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp at +1 951 579 7412 — for a price, a change to your booking or anything about the trip — or email support@airportlink.app.
