Arriving at Puerto Vallarta Airport

Puerto Vallarta International Airport serves Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit. Flights use the current terminal while a new Terminal 2 is being built. After customs, walk through the arrivals hall to the exit, where your driver waits with your name.

• Just after customs you may be offered transport and tours. If your transfer is booked, keep walking to the exit.
• Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías, Sayulita and Punta de Mita are in Nayarit, but the Bahía de Banderas municipality has kept the same time as Puerto Vallarta since 2010, so your clock does not change.

How long it really takes

Maps says 91 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.

Realistically, 121 to 166 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.

When to book

Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.

How much luggage can I take?

One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.

Can I get a child seat?

Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.

Who will drive me?

A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can I book the return from San Sebastián del Oeste to the airport?
