Before you land
The airport
Henri Coandă, still widely called Otopeni, is Bucharest's main airport and lies in the town of Otopeni, north of the city, beside the DN1 road. It is one terminal building with departures on the upper level and arrivals on the ground level. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign.
- Arrivals is on the ground floor and departures upstairs, so if you are told to meet anyone 'at the terminal', it is the arrivals hall downstairs.
- Traffic on DN1 between the airport and the city can be heavy and is what decides the journey time. The price is fixed, so a slow road changes the time, not what you pay.
- Bucharest has a second, smaller airport at Băneasa. Check your ticket says Otopeni (OTP) and not Băneasa (BBU).

How much luggage can I take?
One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.
Can I get a child seat?
Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.
Can I cancel?
Free up to 24 hours before pick-up, refunded in full. On many routes you can also book without paying and we only charge the card 48 hours before you travel.
Who will drive me?
A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.
