The journey

Most of the way is good dual carriageway, but the PE-060 section is single-lane and patchy; the final stretch leaves it at the Rio Formoso junction. Pousadas and resorts sit along the beach near the São Benedito chapel, so give the property name.

Arriving at Recife Airport

Recife Airport sits in the Imbiribeira district in the south of the city, right next to Boa Viagem, where most Recife hotels are. It has a single passenger terminal, and arrivals are on the ground floor. Many passengers are heading straight down the south coast to Porto de Galinhas and beyond.

• Arrivals are on the ground floor; departures and check-in are upstairs on the first floor.
• The airport has its own metro station a short covered walk from the terminal, but for luggage and the coast a door-to-door car is simpler.

Can I get a child seat?

Tell us in the booking notes, with the child's age, and we pass it to the driver. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.

Who will drive me?

A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can I book the return from Praia dos Carneiros to the airport?
