Arraial is reached over the Rio–Niterói Bridge, the BR-101 and the tolled Via Lagos, with the final stretch on the RJ-140 around Cabo Frio. Weekend and pre-holiday traffic on this route can be very heavy, so weekdays are easier.

Arriving at Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont Airport

Santos Dumont is Rio's city-centre airport, built on land reclaimed from Guanabara Bay next to the Centro financial district, with Sugarloaf on the approach. It handles domestic flights; the original 1945 building now serves arrivals only, and departures use the terminal opened in 2007.

• Santos Dumont is closed to flights from 23:00 to 06:00 — if you are flying late at night, check whether your flight uses Galeão instead.
• On Sundays the roads through Flamengo Park close to cars, which changes the usual route to Botafogo and Copacabana.

Can I get a child seat?

Tell us in the booking notes, with the child's age, and we pass it to the driver. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.

Who will drive me?

A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can I book the return from Arraial do Cabo to the airport?
