What is included

The journey

Aparecida is right on the Via Dutra in the Vale do Paraíba, and the Santuário Nacional with its Basilica is the destination for almost every visitor. The busiest days are around 12 October and in November, and weekends and holidays are also crowded.

Arriving at São Paulo Guarulhos Airport

GRU is Brazil's busiest airport, but it is in the neighbouring city of Guarulhos, not in São Paulo itself, and it has its own access road, the Rodovia Hélio Smidt, linking to the Ayrton Senna and the Dutra. Terminal 1 is domestic only (Azul), Terminal 2 handles most domestic flights and some international ones, and Terminal 3 handles most international and long-haul flights. Your driver meets you on the arrivals level of your terminal.

How long it really takes

Maps says 122 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.

1
Taxi and disembark10–15 min
2
Passport controlNone inside Schengen. 15–45 min from outside it.
3
Baggage reclaim10–25 min with hold luggage
4
Finding your driver2–5 min. Your name on a sign.
5
The drive122 min

Realistically, 152 to 197 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.

When to book

Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.

A week aheadJuly, August, Fridays and Saturdays. The busiest arrivals of the year, and a long run like this one is the first to run out.
As soon as you have the flightGroups of five or more. Vans and minibuses go first, always.
Two or three daysLanding between 23:00 and 06:00. Fewer drivers are working.
The day before is fineEverything else. The same morning usually works too.

Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.

Before you land

Three terminals, and T1 is separateTerminals 2 and 3 are joined by a walkway, but Terminal 1 (Azul domestic) is apart and linked by a free shuttle and the airport people mover. Check your terminal before you land.
International can be T2 or T3The airport assigns international flights to Terminal 2 or 3 daily, so the airline list is not always a guide. Your flight number tells us where to wait.
São Paulo's rodízioOn weekdays from 07:00 to 10:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, private cars are kept off the streets inside the Marginal Tietê, Marginal Pinheiros and Avenida dos Bandeirantes ring according to the last digit of the plate. Taxis are exempt; weekends and holidays are free.
Not everyone is going to São PauloThe Hélio Smidt joins the Dutra and the Ayrton Senna, which lead to the Vale do Paraíba, Campos do Jordão and, via the Tamoios, the north coast and the Ilhabela ferry.

FAQ

How long does it take to get from São Paulo Guarulhos Airport to Aparecida (National Shrine)?

About 122 minutes for the 155.7 km, outside peak traffic. Your driver knows the route and follows the flight, so a delayed landing moves the pick-up rather than costing you the transfer.

How much is a transfer from São Paulo Guarulhos Airport to Aparecida (National Shrine)?

From R$1 045.93 for up to four passengers, and R$1 191.52 for a group of five or six in a van. The price is fixed when you book — tolls and taxes included, nothing added at the end.

What happens if my flight is late?

We track the flight number you give us. The driver waits and adjusts to the actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting after the plane touches down.

Where do I meet the driver at São Paulo Guarulhos Airport?

In the arrivals hall after you clear customs. The day before your trip we send you the driver's name, phone number and vehicle, and they contact you with the exact spot.

Can I cancel?

Free up to 24 hours before pick-up, refunded in full. On many routes you can also book without paying and we only charge the card 48 hours before you travel.

Is the transfer private or shared?

Private. The vehicle is for your group only: no other passengers and no other stops on the way to Aparecida (National Shrine).

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle. One price covers everyone in it, up to the seats of the vehicle you choose.

Which car will I get?

It depends on the size of your group. Sedan: Skoda Superb, Toyota Camry or similar; Premium Sedan: Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series or similar; Van: Mercedes Vito, VW Caravelle or similar; Large Van: Mercedes V-Class, Ford Tourneo or similar; Minibus 12: Mercedes Sprinter or similar · or 2 vans; Minibus 16: Mercedes Sprinter or similar · or 2 vans. These are examples: we do not guarantee a particular make or model, but we do guarantee enough seats and enough space for normal luggage.

How much luggage can I take?

One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis, golf clubs, bicycles or an unusual number of bags: tell us in the notes when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent.

Can I get a child seat?

Tell us in the booking notes, with the child's age, and we pass it to the driver. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.

Who will drive me?

A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can I book the return from Aparecida (National Shrine) to the airport?

Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.

When do I pay?

When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.

Can I contact you before I travel?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp at +1 951 579 7412 — for a price, a change to your booking or anything about the trip — or email support@airportlink.app.
