The journey

The circuit is at Avenida Senador Teotônio Vilela 261 in the far south of the city. On Formula 1 weekends the city traffic authority (CET) closes the streets around the track and sets designated drop-off points, so the car cannot go to the gate.

Arriving at São Paulo Guarulhos Airport

GRU is Brazil's busiest airport, but it is in the neighbouring city of Guarulhos, not in São Paulo itself, and it has its own access road, the Rodovia Hélio Smidt, linking to the Ayrton Senna and the Dutra. Terminal 1 is domestic only (Azul), Terminal 2 handles most domestic flights and some international ones, and Terminal 3 handles most international and long-haul flights. Your driver meets you on the arrivals level of your terminal.

• International airlines can be assigned to Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 day by day — share your flight number so the driver waits at the right one.
• The Ayrton Senna and the Marginal Tietê are the fast way into São Paulo, but the Marginal is often congested at peak times.

How long it really takes

Maps says 70 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.

Realistically, 100 to 145 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.

When to book

Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.

Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.

How much luggage can I take?

One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis, golf clubs, bicycles or an unusual number of bags: tell us in the notes when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent.

Can I get a child seat?

Tell us in the booking notes, with the child's age, and we pass it to the driver. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.

Who will drive me?

A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can I book the return from Interlagos Circuit to the airport?

Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.

When do I pay?

When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.
