The journey
Lille Flandres is the older station, facing the city centre. Regional trains and some TGVs to Paris leave from here. It is a short walk from Lille Europe, but they are different stations.
Arriving at Lille Airport
Lille Airport is at Lesquin, south-east of Lille. The terminal is compact, and the driver waits in the arrivals hall after baggage reclaim, with your name on a sign.
- Lille has two main stations side by side: Lille Europe for Eurostar and most TGVs, Lille Flandres for regional trains and some TGVs to Paris. Check your ticket.
- On the first weekend of September the Braderie closes the city centre to traffic.
How long it really takes
Maps says 15 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.
Realistically, 45 to 90 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
When to book
Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.
Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.
