Arriving at Pisa Airport
Pisa's airport is three kilometres from the leaning tower, which makes it one of the closest in Europe. It is also the practical gateway to Florence for anyone flying low-cost, and to the Cinque Terre up the coast.

- Florence is eighty-five kilometres east — an hour by road, an hour by train.
- The Cinque Terre are reached by train from La Spezia. Cars cannot enter the villages.
