The journey
Twenty-five minutes up the M56. The city centre is compact but its one-way system is not, so give the hotel name rather than the street — the driver will stop at the door where the road allows.
Arriving at Manchester Airport
Manchester is the biggest airport outside London and the natural gateway to the north-west, to the Lake District and to north Wales. It has three terminals joined by a covered walkway and a skylink, and the arrivals halls are separate — the terminal on your booking is where your driver waits.

- The M56 into the city is quick outside peak hours; between 07:30 and 09:30 it is not.
