Before you land

Monaco is another countryMonaco is an independent state with an open border: there is no passport check on the road. The principality is small but steep, with tunnels and one-way streets, so give the hotel name.

Riviera traffic in summer and in MayThe A8 and the coast roads fill up in July and August, and in May during the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix. The price is fixed, so traffic changes the time, not what you pay.

The airport

Nice Côte d'Azur is on the seafront at the western end of the Promenade des Anglais, close to the city. It has two terminals, 1 and 2, linked by a free shuttle. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal, after baggage reclaim, with your name on a sign.
