The journey
Grenoble sits in a valley ringed by mountains and is the gateway to ski resorts such as Chamrousse, L'Alpe d'Huez and Les Deux Alpes. If you are going on to a resort, book the resort directly rather than the city.
Arriving at Lyon Airport
Lyon Saint-Exupéry is east of Lyon, with its own TGV station, designed by Santiago Calatrava, next to the terminals. It serves the city and is also a gateway to the Alps. The driver waits in the arrivals hall after baggage reclaim, with your name on a sign.
