The journey
An hour and twenty minutes west into Kerry, and the start of the Ring of Kerry for most people who drive it. The N22 is good road the whole way. Killarney town is compact and most hotels are within walking distance of the centre, but the ones in the National Park are several kilometres out — give the name and the driver will find it.
Arriving at Cork Airport
Cork Airport is seven kilometres south of the city, on high ground that catches the fog rolling in from the coast. It is a single terminal and a small one — you are outside within ten minutes of the plane doors opening, which makes it one of the easier arrivals in Ireland.
