What is included

The journey

Seventy-six kilometres south on the motorway, an hour. Salerno is the eastern gateway to the Amalfi Coast and the ferry port for Amalfi and Positano in summer — often faster than the coast road, and considerably calmer.

Arriving at Naples Airport

Capodichino sits inside the city, six kilometres from the port. That is unusual and convenient, but it also means the road out is city traffic from the first metre — twelve kilometres to the centre can take forty minutes.

How long it really takes

Maps says 60 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.

1
Taxi and disembark10–15 min
2
Passport controlNone inside Schengen. 15–45 min from outside it.
3
Baggage reclaim10–25 min with hold luggage
4
Finding your driver2–5 min. Your name on a sign.
5
The drive60 min

Realistically, 90 to 135 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.

When to book

Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.

A week aheadJuly, August, Fridays and Saturdays. The busiest arrivals of the year, and a long run like this one is the first to run out.
As soon as you have the flightGroups of five or more. Vans and minibuses go first, always.
Two or three daysLanding between 23:00 and 06:00. Fewer drivers are working.
The day before is fineEverything else. The same morning usually works too.

Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.

Before you land

City traffic from the gateCapodichino has no ring road. Every journey starts in Naples traffic, which is dense and improvisational. Our price is fixed; the taxi meter is not, and the difference shows on a bad day.
The Amalfi Coast roadBeautiful, and slow. The stretch from Sorrento to Positano is single-lane in places with buses coming the other way. Ninety minutes is realistic for a journey a map calls sixty.
Pompeii and HerculaneumPompeii is twenty-eight kilometres, Herculaneum fifteen. Both are on the Circumvesuviana line, which is cheap and often unpleasant with luggage. For a family, the car wins.

FAQ

How long does it take to get from Naples Airport to Salerno?

About 60 minutes for the 76 km, outside peak traffic. Your driver knows the route and follows the flight, so a delayed landing moves the pick-up rather than costing you the transfer.

How much is a transfer from Naples Airport to Salerno?

From €173 for up to four passengers, and €226 for a group of five to eight in a van. The price is fixed when you book — tolls and taxes included, nothing added at the end.

What happens if my flight is late?

We track the flight number you give us. The driver waits and adjusts to the actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting after the plane touches down.

Where do I meet the driver at Naples Airport?

In the arrivals hall after you clear customs. The day before your trip we send you the driver's name, phone number and vehicle, and they contact you with the exact spot.

Can I cancel?

Free up to 24 hours before pick-up, refunded in full and automatically. On many routes you can also book without paying and we only charge the card 48 hours before you travel.
