The journey

Vilamoura is built around the marina and the golf courses, and the resorts spread out over a few kilometres. The marina is the reference point most drivers use.

Arriving at Faro Airport

Faro Airport serves the whole Algarve, and most passengers are not going to Faro itself. Everything west — Albufeira, Vilamoura, Lagos — is on the A22 motorway. Arrivals is a single hall and the meeting point is straight through customs.

• Summer Saturdays are the busiest arrivals of the year. Allow extra time and expect the terminal to be full.
• The A22 motorway across the Algarve has been toll-free since January 2025, which keeps the whole coast quick to reach.

How long it really takes

Maps says 27 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.

Realistically, 57 to 102 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.

When to book

Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.

Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.

How long does it take to get from Faro Airport to Vilamoura?

About 27 minutes for the 23.6 km, outside peak traffic. Your driver knows the route and follows the flight, so a delayed landing moves the pick-up rather than costing you the transfer.

How much is a transfer from Faro Airport to Vilamoura?

From €34.39 for up to four passengers, and €45.30 for a group of five or six in a van. The price is fixed when you book — tolls and taxes included, nothing added at the end.

What happens if my flight is late?

We track the flight number you give us. The driver waits and adjusts to the actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting after the plane touches down.

Where do I meet the driver at Faro Airport?

In the arrivals hall after you clear customs. The day before your trip we send you the driver's name, phone number and vehicle, and they contact you with the exact spot.

Can I cancel?

Which car will I get?

It depends on the size of your group. These are examples: we do not guarantee a particular make or model, but we do guarantee enough seats and enough space for normal luggage.

How much luggage can I take?

One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.

Can I get a child seat?

Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.

Who will drive me?

A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can I book the return from Vilamoura to the airport?

Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.

When do I pay?

When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.
