The airport

Gran Canaria's airport sits on the east coast, roughly halfway between Las Palmas in the north and the southern resorts. Both directions are about half an hour on the GC-1.

• North and south are opposite directions from the terminal — Las Palmas 25 km one way, Maspalomas 30 km the other.
• The south is reliably sunny when the north is under cloud. It catches many first-time visitors out.
