The journey
Twenty-five minutes on the VCI. If you are staying in the Ribeira, the streets down by the river are steep and mostly pedestrian — the driver will get as close as the car allows, usually a two-minute walk.
Arriving at Porto Airport
Porto Airport is 11 km north of the city in Maia. It is a small, easy airport — arrivals to car is usually under ten minutes. The meeting point is the arrivals hall, straight ahead as you leave baggage reclaim.
- Porto has almost no queue at passport control compared to Lisbon. Twenty minutes from landing to car is normal.
- The metro goes to the centre but takes 35 minutes with luggage and a change. With two or more people a transfer usually costs less than the fares.

Realistically, 55 to 100 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
