The journey

The closest resort to the airport, barely ten minutes down the coast. Hotels cluster around La Carihuela and the Bajondillo beach, and the two are a fair walk apart — the hotel name saves time.

Arriving at Málaga Airport

Málaga is the gateway to the Costa del Sol, and most arrivals are not going to Málaga itself. Everything west — Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella — runs along the A-7 and the AP-7 toll road. The terminal is single and modern, with arrivals on one level.

• The AP-7 toll road saves twenty minutes to Marbella in summer. Our price includes the toll either way.
• Resorts on the Costa del Sol spread over several kilometres. Give the hotel or urbanisation name, not just the town.

How long it really takes

Maps says 11 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.

Realistically, 41 to 86 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.

When to book

Booking early costs the same as booking late — the price does not move. What moves is whether there is a car left.

Cancellation is free until 24 hours before, so booking early costs you nothing if the plan changes.

How long does it take to get from Málaga Airport to Torremolinos?

About 11 minutes for the 6.9 km, outside peak traffic. Your driver knows the route and follows the flight, so a delayed landing moves the pick-up rather than costing you the transfer.

How much is a transfer from Málaga Airport to Torremolinos?

From €30.59 for up to four passengers, and €43.00 for a group of five or six in a van. The price is fixed when you book — tolls and taxes included, nothing added at the end.

What happens if my flight is late?

We track the flight number you give us. The driver waits and adjusts to the actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting after the plane touches down.

Where do I meet the driver at Málaga Airport?

How much luggage can I take?

One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per passenger is included. Skis or a snowboard, a golf bag, a surfboard or a bicycle: add them when you book, so a vehicle with room for them is sent (there is a small charge, shown before you pay). An unusual number of ordinary bags: tell us in the notes.

Can I get a child seat?

Yes. Choose it when you book: infant seat (0–12 months), child seat (1–4 years) or booster seat (4–12 years). There is a small charge per seat, shown before you pay. Where the law requires a child seat, travelling without one is not possible.

Who will drive me?

A licensed local transport company that works with Airportlink. We check its operating licence and insurance before it can take bookings, and again when they expire. The day before, you receive the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can I book the return from Torremolinos to the airport?

Yes. Add the return when you book, or book it on its own later, also at a fixed price. For pick-ups away from the airport the driver waits 15 minutes free from the booked time.

When do I pay?

When you book, or — on many transfers — later: you book without paying, your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged 48 hours before pick-up. You are told the exact amount and date when you book.
