Arriving at Heathrow Airport
Heathrow is the busiest airport in Europe and has four terminals spread over a large site, connected by free transfers that still take time. Terminals 2 and 3 sit together in the middle; Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 are several minutes away by train or road. The terminal is what decides where your driver meets you, so it matters more here than almost anywhere else.
- Give your terminal when you book. A driver waiting at Terminal 5 cannot reach Terminal 3 quickly, and the free inter-terminal train adds fifteen minutes.
- The M4 and M25 around Heathrow are slow between 07:00 and 09:30 and again from 16:00. A journey that takes forty minutes at noon can take ninety at six in the evening.
- Heathrow charges every vehicle that stops at the terminal a drop-off fee. It is included in our price, and it is worth checking whether a quote you compare includes it.

Maps says 196 minutes. That is the driving. Door to door from the moment you land is a different number, and it is the one worth planning around.
Realistically, 226 to 271 minutes after landing. If someone is waiting for you, that is the number to give them.
