The airport

Bristol Airport sits on high ground south-west of the city, which gives it a reputation for fog and a single winding road down into Bristol. It is the airport for the West Country, for Bath and for south Wales across the Severn bridges.

The airport road is single carriageway for most of the way down. Allow more time than the distance suggests, especially in the evening.
Bath is forty-five minutes away and has no airport of its own — this is where visitors land.
Cardiff is just over an hour, across the Severn. The bridge toll no longer applies, which changed the maths for this route.
