Fifteen minutes to the city, and it really isThe M8 runs from the terminal to the centre of Glasgow with no detours. Unless there is an event at the Hydro or a match at Ibrox, this is one of the shortest airport journeys to a major British city.

The airport

Glasgow Airport sits eight miles west of the city beside the M8, which makes it one of the quickest airports in Britain to leave. It is the main airport for the west of Scotland, for Loch Lomond and for the ferries to the islands.

The city centre is barely fifteen minutes away outside rush hour — shorter than the walk through some terminals.
For the islands, the ferry ports at Gourock and Ardrossan are under an hour; ferry times are tight, so book the car to arrive early.
Loch Lomond is forty minutes north, and a very common first stop straight from the airport.
