The ZTL, and why it matters more hereFlorence's limited-traffic zone covers most of the historic centre and the cameras are unforgiving. Our vehicles are authorised. A hire car is not, and the fine arrives by post six months later.

A small airport that divertsOne runway, and it points the wrong way for the prevailing wind. Diversions to Pisa are not common but they are not rare either. We track the flight, so a diversion means we meet you where you actually land.

Tuscany starts at the doorSiena is seventy kilometres, San Gimignano fifty, Chianti begins twenty minutes out. For a day in the hills an hourly booking works better than two transfers — you keep the car and the driver waits.

The airport

Peretola is six kilometres from the Duomo, which makes it one of the closest city airports in Italy. It is also small, with a single runway that closes in strong crosswinds — diversions to Pisa or Bologna happen a few times a year.

Six kilometres to the centre. Fifteen minutes, twenty-five if the Viale is busy.
The tram line T2 runs to Santa Maria Novella in twenty minutes for €1.50. It works well if you travel light.
In fog or high wind the airport diverts to Pisa. If that happens, tell us — we move the pick-up rather than charge you twice.
