Before you land

Opera nights end lateThe Arena programme finishes between 23:30 and 00:30. The last trains to most lake towns have gone. A booked car waiting is the difference between staying in Verona and going back to your hotel.

Lake Garda's south shoreSirmione, Peschiera and Lazise are all within thirty-five kilometres. The road along the lake is slow in July but the drive from the airport is on the motorway most of the way.

A compact centreVerona fits inside a bend of the Adige and you can cross it on foot in twenty minutes. The ZTL covers most of it; our vehicles are cleared.

The airport

Villafranca is twelve kilometres from Verona and twenty from the southern shore of Lake Garda. In opera season the city fills for two months and the airport with it.
